The private corporation “Mika-Cement” is an enterprise made on the bases of the cement plant of Hrazdan. The plant was put into exploitation in 1970 as a structural subdivision of the mountainous-chemical group of enterprises of Hrazdan. The production of the enterprise was used in Armenia in almost all the constructions of the spheres, having great significance, and was exported to the republics of Transcaucasus and to Russia in great amounts. In 2001 the plant was privatized and renamed into private corporation “Mika-Cement”.
       The PC “Mika-Cement” is situated in the city Hrazdan of the Armenian Republic on a 540 thousand s/m territory. The enterprise is equipped with two technological lines with the rated capacity of 1.2 million tons of cement a year. High quality raw material, own quarries of marl lime-stones and clay, and high demands for the production are the safeguards of the rapid development of the PC “Mika-Cement”.

        The production of the enterprise stands out for high quality properties, especially after the opening of its own lime-stone quarries. The Artanishian lime-stone deposit is situated on the north-east of the shore of the lake Sevan, on the north-western extremity of the Sevanian mountain ridge, at 85km’s distance from Mika-cement. An automobile route and a main railway line pass to the south-east of the deposit; the total area of the deposit makes 25 hectares. The reserves of the quarry are inexhaustible. The open-pit extraction is implemented without the application of blast-hole drilling. The clay quarry has the reserves in the amount of 9.2 million tons. At the moment of the year 2007 70 million tons of lime-stone of the quarry type has been studied and examined. The deposit is ecologically clean and safe. For ensuring uninterrupted functioning of the plant, a preliminary lime-stone pounding system was instilled into the quarry, after processing the raw material is loaded into the wagons and transferred to the plant by railway. The samples of clinker obtained from the lime-stone of the Artashian deposit showed high activity. The Makravanian lime-stone deposit and the Hrazdanian clay deposit also belong to the enterprise.
